About original painting Wuthering Heights:

Kate Bush, what an icon. She is one of the artists who coloured my childhood and made a lasting impression on me. I remember the days spend in front of the tv well. Hoping to get a glimpse of my favourite artist or band of the moment. I was mesmerized by the video clips of that time. The styling, the dancing. I couldn’t wait to grow up and be part of that.
So that basically was the inspiration for this original painting “Wuthering Heights”.

In this small painting I tried to recreate the atmosphere from a video clip for Wuthering Heights

She performed the song here in a music programme that came on the telly in the 1980s. I dreamed of also being able to express myself in such a creative way. Not yet knowing how that would look for me.

As it turned out painting became my creative outlet to share those dreams.

A women in a red dress stands in the centre of the scene holding up her hands, palms forward. Is she trying to tell me something or is she dancing? Unaware of her surroundings it seems. There are bare trees in the background. And a lake or body of water. The colours are cool and create a bare appearance.
